Labor day

Today is labor day, so I start working since morning. First start with realign the PV modules, but not really successful since very limited space to adjust. Then, painting the structure. It's tire day for me, but a meaningful one.

Still got 4 more days and I hope we will have a totally new Bolehland. We have been living in the unfair and corrupted country  for so many decades, it is time for a restart.

Insanity

Definition of insanity in Oxford dictionary:

Definition of insanity by Einstein:

doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

To all the Boleh1and voter, if you have repeated 55 years of unlimited test and failure, you do not need to repeat the test again this time and I can ensure you the result will be the same. So, please change to other method, it may bring you to the next lever.

The engineer's principles

Recently I was preparing my very first solar PV system. Since, I, myself is a qualify person, so most of the item I will DIY to reduce my cost. My recently renovation had put my into very tight financial situation.

I had asked my piping sub-cond to do the framework for me since I have knew him for more than 10 years. At first I was thinking to galvanise my c-channel, but after checking the price, I had decided to paint the channel myself. Each length of C-channel is about RM127, but the galvanise cost for each length is RM88, which mean I need to pay about extra 1k for 12 lengths of c-channel. But to paint the channel, I only need around a hundred of good quality paint.

You can said I'm stingy, but I called it thrifty. I willing to pay for extra steel thickness, but I not willing to pay for the galvanisation. 1k is lot of money, it's more than my monthly salary when I get my first job. My principle on spending money, pay for something I need and not something I want. I willing to pay for extract strength cause that is the most important item in the project. I want something that is safe, last longer, and I don't need to worry after I had built it. But for galvanise the channel, if the price is ok, says around RM300, the I will galvanise it. But 1k is way too far from my budget. So I choose to paint it myself.

It's not an easy job to paint the channel under the hot sun, anyway I manage to finish it. Now the frame is up, and I going to do the electrical wiring myself. By 1 more week, my system will be online and hopefully the summer will give me some extra income to cover my investment.

Water filter

I want to write about water filter topic for quite sometime, but due to my laziness, until today I finally started to write something. I hope I can cover the important info in this blog.

First of all, Bolehland water filter price is way too much expansive if you compare to other country. Secondly, most of the famous water filters like Nesh, Diamond, etc are without any certificate or comply to any recognized standard. By the way, if you are those suppliers, please don't spam my blog; if you agreed with my opinion, then thank you, else, I hope you leave this blog quietly.

Lets talk about standard first. When we want to know until what level a product can performs, we refer to NSF standard. There are many standard published by NSF, but we only concentrate at few related.

NSF 42 is the most basic standard for water filter. It only cover the aesthetic effects of the filtered water, e.g. chlorine removal, taste, appearance, and odour claim. Basically this kind of filter is quite useless if it is installed alone.

NSF 53 talks about health effect of the water filter. It is used to measure how good a filter can filter contaminates that may pose a health risk. So, it is a must for your water filter system to tested or certified to this standard.

NSF 55 is for UV system. UV is used for disinfection, unless you plan to drink the water direct from the pipe, else, just boil the water will do.

NSF 58 is for RO system. RO is one of the most clean water that can be produced using filter. But one of the drawback of RO is that it waste lots of water. Usually if you input 1L of pipe water into RO system, it will only produce around 0.7L of clean water and the balance are wasted. So, if you plan to use RO, please remember to design a storage tank to keep the waste water for other usage like irrigation.

Now you understand the standard, then lets see what we can do.

Lot of people nowadays will install a whole house water filter system in front of their house. I'm not very sure about the price but I believe is somewhere around RM1k or more. If you are a poor engineer like me, then you can follow my way to install you own whole house water filter system.

First, buy one or two water filter housings like the following photo.

I personally recommend two units cause I'm a bit kiasi. Then go to your incoming water pipe, find a suitable place after the flow meter and install the filters. Please remember to use portable water grade of piping like HDPE or stainless steel, remember don't use PVC, it has been banned due to the hazardous of the material.

Once you have installed the filter housings, you need filter. There are lot of filters sold in the supermarket and hardware shop. I had tried 5um filter and it is quite useless and recently I found one of the best water filter sell by Living Depot near my house. The brand is calls GenAir, and it is a 1um filter. The unit is very solid as compare to those other filters, and the price is reasonable, RM3 per unit.

As you can see, the filter is covered with mud. And this filter only been used for 1.5 month.

I cut the filter and found that the inner of the filter is still clean, which mean the filter has done it job to filter out the unwanted substance. I strongly recommend to change filter once a month and please don't wash the filter and reuse, it is useless to install a filter system but you didn't change the filter regularly. This is most of the Bolehland people culture to pay extreme high price for a basic filter system and never change the filter until they change to a new system.

Ok, once you have the basic whole house filter system, the next thing you have to do is to get a good water filter system for your drinking water. Panasonic water filters are good choice. The price of the unit and the filter is quite reasonable and you can get from most of the places.

As for myself, currently I'm using a filter system from USA call Instapure, but going to change to a more higher standard product from USA also. Will update you once I got the filter.

Stop Lynas

A lot of politicians forgot that government should work for people and not the other way round. So far I don't really care whether are we ruled by a bunch of morons, how these morons made themselves rich, or are we going to bankrupt or not. For me, it make us pissed with these morons politicians running the country. But today we are really angry, our government has sold our life, our future and our mother nature for their wealthness.

What is the use of a government if they are risking the human life for their own pocket? There shall not be even a single reason why the government should accept the Lynas project. Whoever allowed this to happen shall be centenced to death. If our laws have maximum punishment to the drug trafficking, then our laws shall impose the same punishment to those trafficking radioactive waste into our country. The impact from Lynas project is much more worst than drug. But today these politicians never get any punishment, they don't even want to accept the people's voices, and they still act like a king of this piece of land.

This blog is nothing to do with politics, it's about million of human life that have been traded for the Lynas project. The people of this piece of land deserve a liveable environment and that is our basic rights.

For all Malaysian, please wake up, let's use our next election to speak for us. I don't mind if we are ruled by a bunch of monkeys or donkeys as long as they don't do something harmful to risk our life.

Is green energy a new business?

FiT has just kick started in Bolehland, Seda has opened its counter for FiT application. We saw a tremendous excellence response from Bolehland citizen, within half day, the quota for PV has been fully taken up. According to the news, 50MW has been allocated for PV (2011/2012), however, from Seda webpage, the total allocated PV quota is 69.89MW (2011/2012). If you check again, now the total available quota for PV until 2014 left 5.76MW at the time of this writing and I believe it will go zero by end of the day.

According to the news, there are total of 229 applications for FiT and 201 of it are applied for PV. Let’s do a simple calculation. Total of 201 applications for 69.89MW, which mean average of 348kW for each application. You may say this might not be the case cause for solar farm, one application may reach up to 5MW. Ok, let’s re-do it again. Now assume that 201 applications are all individuals that want to install PV at their house, so 201 applications for 7.14MW, which come to 35.5kW per application. Does it look normal?

For those who don’t understand PV, let me explain something on the PV installation.

PV is one of the simplest RE, it does not require heavy maintenance and it is clean and safe to install at any place. But one of the major constrains of PV is that it require spaces. From current technology, it can only generate around 140-150Wp per m2. Now, let’s us calculate the space required for 35.5kW PV by assume that the PV module can generate 145Wp per m2, so for 35.5kW you need 244.8m2 (2635sq.ft). It’s almost double of my house’s land area.

Something is not correct here, something fishy.

I have talked to one of the PV manufacturer, and he was shocked seeing this situation. It means they can’t sell any more PV for the next 3 years cause no one want to install PV anymore, since the quota has been taken up. There is no way to sell this technology to household that really want to contribute to the environment by hoping that they can at least recover their investment through FiT. Only those really rich people can afford to install without consider the rebate. For your information, PV is still talking about RM15k++ per kWp of installation.

I personally do not agree on PV farm, it is not green technology; it's destroying our environment, our mother nature. Imaging a 1MW solar farm needs to take up at least 7000m2++ or near to 2 acres of land. How cans a technology is called green but it needs to chop the trees and destroy a huge jungle area in order to install the so call green energy? It’s just bullshit to me.

Bolehland authority is killing this wonderful technology of PV, a green technology that really available to us for us to share our effort to help to improve the environment. But someone just kill it for the sick of their wealthiness .

Bersih 2.0

First of all, I would like to tell you that I'm not posting about politics here. So please don't use ISA or anything to catch me.

Second, I don't care who the hell are governing my country, but I do care how they governing it.

So, about Bersih 2.0, I really don't have much details on this, but you can read the wiki. Therefore, I can only tell you what I feel about Bersih 2.0 from my point of view.

Bolehland is a democracy country, so we do have some rights, although not really much, to express our view. If you ask me do I support Bersih? My answer is yes, and I hope they can do it in peaceful way. We want to tell our government that we are not happy with what they did previously and we want to tell them we want change.

The rally shall not be a politic tool for any politicians to promote them self or to condemn other parties. It should be a gathering of our people to tell the government of what we want and why we want that.

I just came back from Penang yesterday night and I'm lucky that I have avoided all the jams happen last few days. From all the messages I received, I can tell our government that the way they handling this issue is just making us more pissed and angry. I saw lot of trucks sending polices to KL to setup road block, even in Penang, they setting up the road block. What the hell these idiots are doing? They wasted all our resources including man power and money just to stop something which is allowed in democracy country. Why don't they put more effort to make it right at the first place so that we don't get pissed and come and tell you how lousy you are.

Today, there is no much different to declare state of emergency since we can't really go out, everywhere is road block and you will suffer in the jam for hours and hours. And guest what, we should inform Guinness book of records to record this event as the longest jam in the world, or the largest car park in the world.

Do worry about me if you think I will go rally, anyway I don't have yellow shirt and I'm kiasi people. But I will write here and tell the world that I'm pissed and disappointed with the morons and I will make sure I will vote the other party even they put a monkey since that make no different. But what really different is that we want tell the government that we are pissed, we are angry, we are disappointed, we are tired and we want change. We can't guarantee that the new comer will do better, but that's the only way to tell everyone that we can put you up there and we can bring you down if you don't do it well.

So, last word, if you plan to go to join the party, make sure you do it peacefully and come back in one piece. Deliver the message but not damage our lovely country.

Believe me, I don’t, but I remember one joker that makes A.I. a famous show and he himself become so famous for nothing, William Hung. Believe it or not, his first album, Inspiration, sold 240,000 copies. Everyone buying his album not because he can sing, just because he is weird. Thanks to Web2.0, we can see more and more jokers and morons try to show their talent in this virtual world.

These are only a small portion of the videos that being uploaded to the net. What is in those morons’ brain? What is wrong with our home education? The school education? The society? Everyday more and more moron try to show how jerk they are. They got no talent, they can’t sing, they can’t study, they can’t run, they can’t do anything; I don’t know why they are born with proper body with defected brain? And everyone is trying to ask the world to focus on them by showing their ugly mind.

Are you ready?

Ok, Bolehland government announce the increment of the petrol from RM1.92 to RM2.70, which is RM0.78 or 40% increment.

So what happen next? Everything will up. The transportation fees are up, therefore, everything directly related or non-directly related are up. Those goods will not walk itself to the market. Do you think, this is the worst case? No! the next increment is on August, which is 2 months from now. At that time, the petrol price will be open to fluctuate according to market price. So, what is the price? It's > RM4.00.

As usual our PM make announcement that they will not increase the price today and will study on the petrol price. The next minute, as usual he change his fucking mind and announce the increment immediately today. I saw cars queuing on the petrol station to get the last drop of cheat petrol. Roads those are usually free moving are jam because too many drivers are trying to save some petrol money.

So what are the direct impact on me? I used to use around RM350 per month for my petrol and for new price, I will need to pay extra around RM150 per month and in other word, RM1800 per year. This is not yet including others increment.

So what can we do?
You can't do anything cause the government is not belong to the peoples, it's belong to some fucker. And we are so sohai to select those fuckers to work for us.

What is the impact to Malaysia and Malaysian?

I'm not economist therefore I don't really know what actually going to be happen (you can read this). And from the engineer's point of view, it is going to be a very serious inflation.

Whether you like it or not, or you're happy or not, the Bolehland government will not pay a fuck of consideration nor sympathy to you. Just prepare yourself for the next wave.
