My wild horse went back to Bolehland after struggling one month at the dusty rainless place. He is so happy to say goodbye to us. So, we sent him with tear in our eyes that day T_T

You know what you're talking or not?

In every project that I handle, I met quite some number of peoples. Some are expert, some are stupid, and some are “sing ka” (con man). I thanks god that so far those peoples that I deal with are quite normal, until recently I met some fucking ego idiots.

Lot of peoples likes to show off their capability in front of their bosses. So they like to talk a lot whenever their boss is there, whether the word comes out from their mouth is logic or not, they just don’t care and start to pluck from the sky and throw it out to show their “intelligent” and “hardworking-ness”.

When these peoples start to talk, the only action I can do is showing the shocking face and I don’t know how to answer those stupid questions which don’t need answer. There are many stupid real life examples that I can share you, and believe it or not, this is the first time I want to become as stupid as possible in order for me to follow their instructions.

1. In order to have “fantastic” control system, I have been asked to on and off the air-cond. unit installed in the manager room. The reason given is that the manager maybe already went back home and he forgot to off the air-cond.
You don’t actually need the control system, what you need is to employ a guy to fully responsible to on and off the air-cond unit for their bosses by pressing the switch in front of their manager room.

2. In order to have a nice look and feel, I have been instructed to take out all the relays from the relay panel. But how I going to split the signal between PLC and indicator light? And guess what, the given solution is to drive the indicator light from a PLC digital out O_o.
PLC is not an item for you to show off; it is a very important equipment to do the complex control sequence. A relay is not an ugly old component; it is a very important and useful component in simple and reliable hardwires logic.

3. Two management level guys stop the welding because they found out that the gap between two pieces of pipe is bigger than the welding rod diameter. The reason given is that the welder can’t weld properly with gap like this.
Bro, you know what you talking or not? If you need welding course I can introduce a cheap and quick welding training for you with my own cost.

Lot of time, people doesn’t realize that how irritating is their stupid question, argument and reason are. If you really want to challenge people’s work, please make sure you have all the proper knowledge and skill before you start fire. Don’t insult people’s intelligent because of your stupidity.

Once a while we heard some stupid stories about some stupid ideas, stupid actions, illogical statement from friend around us. Sometime we wonder how come these idiots exist in this world. They should, by all means, extinct from this world. However, when we zoom to a bigger screen, there are endless wars at every conner on the third planet from sun. I personally don't understand why people war, what are they looking for? For justice? For wealth? For living?

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Thanks God it's Thursday again

It is my second week in this dusty desert, if you ask me how I feel, I will tell you, I want to go back to the Bolehland.

Basically, I start working from 4.30AM until 12.30PM to avoid the heat from the summer's sun. So the working hour is more or less same as Bolehland. Just I don't know the meal I took is breakfast or lunch or dinner. It is difficult to define in this situation. Anyway, that no the main reason I want to go back.

The weather is hot, well, I'm not all the time at site so I can't really feel the heat. Anyway, I can't denied the temperature, but I believe it still within my acceptable range. With this kind of temperature, you definitely can't bath in the afternoon. It is too hot to bath. So, I can only taking my bath after 7PM.

Then what make me want to go back?

Basically, there is nothing in this desert compare to Bolehland. Nothing is here except dust and more dust.

Talking to the client will just make you vomit. They like to pretend they are the greater than us by just pluck something from the sky and start to speech. Well, for me it is a stupid action that actually tell your opponent that you are stupid and you know nuts. Anyway, those people only care about how is the look, but they don't care or don't know what is the critical for the system. It is good for me since it is more easier for me to do my work, just I can't really stand their stupidity for asking something irrelevant and stupid. Engineer don't really care how is the look, we care about the functionality and reliability. So, better get a engineer boy friend, but don't get a engineer girl friend ;) Up to certain stage, we also like pretty look.

Tomorrow is Friday and it is rest day and I can enjoy my day just to sleep on the sofa for the whole day.

No doubt, he is a very talented artist although his personal life is a mess. Well, we might miss his song and also news. And we looking forward rise of another legend soon.

Though of the day

While browsing about the WEP and WPA security information, I read an IT blog wrote by bwilds , title "Why Hackers Discuss WEP & WPA Cracking". Although the blog is slightly old, blogged on 29/12/2006, but the question itself is very interesting.

A question by a reader, darthlaidher, wrote

"... if stealing internet makes you a person with no morals what does hacking and showing people or giving people advice on how to do it make you? ..."

Basically, I see this as a process of evolution for technology. It's began when a designer has created a system, then a hacker has tried to test the weakness of the system and publish his/her finding to share the knowledge. Then the designer update (evolve) their system to improve on the security (fitness) and the process repeats. However, the update process takes time, and in between this period, whether these informations will be used by a person to update to a more secure system or it is used by someone to hack the weak system is very much depend on the ethic of the technical reader who received the informations. And for other non-technical readers, they are either choose to acknowledge the system weakness or ignore it.

The reply by one of the reader, OmegaVector, wrote that,

Free speech is not only to protect your right to say something but ALSO your right to HEAR something and CHOOSE what you hear. If you want to listen the fear that propagates because of ignorance about testing security systems, then by all means, stay in the dark and be ready to have your information stolen because you chose to ignore the warnings that were telling you of the possibility of weaknesses in your security system.

Yes, fear is what people don't want to know. We fear others critic on our mistakes and weakness, therefore we choose to ignore or stop that by all means. Learn how to put the head in the earth like what ostrich does XD

One day maybe not enough for a person to improve their weak point, but without stepping it out, its will takes infinite time.

To all my colleagues.

Microsoft Outlook high CPU problem - SOLVED!

Last few day, I start to notice my CPU usage intermittently go high to 50%. From the task manager, look like Outlook is unstable. I start searching solution around the world and tonne of methods tried and yet I can't manage to solve the problem.

After few days wars with this weird symptom, I give up and planned to create a new profile. Therefore, I export my RSS, contacts, rules and email accounts setting in order for me to import back to my new profile.

After the new profile created, everything back to normal, no more intermittent high CPU. So I start to create folders, setup my account and everything look good, until I import my contact and the weird symptom come back again >| What the F!

So I try to delete all my contact and the Outlook performance back to normal. So I switch back to my original profile and delete all the contact and everything back to normal.

I don't understand why such an expensive software can have this kind of failure. I should ask Microsoft to return my money back for solving their problem.

Blogging again

Well, seriously I don't know what to blog for. Too much thing want to say but can't speech. Most of my blogger kaki stop blogging since few months ago. We used to have fun time blogging about our life, some stupid idea, criticize on company and works, ... now we all don't have the courage to do that. We don't know what happen if some people read our blog and showed it to someone who we had criticized.

A blog can be subjective and it can be objective. I personally is very subjective in blogging cause that is what I felt. Anyhow, one very importance thing in blogging is that you are the owner of the blog and it mean you have to responsible for what you had wrote. This situation become difficult when you wrote too much related to other people although their name not appear in the blog. So, invited type of blog is used to prevent unwelcome person. Sooner or later, it move to friendster or facebook kind of web application to share your feeling and the stress.

Most of the middle range white-collar worker facing lot of working pressures. Firstly they are educated, they believe in freedom and fairness. They are sandwiched between lower level worker and their boss. There are few ways to release these pressures. One of the way is drink and smoke alone or with their friend. I personally don't like this method.

The other way is say it or write it down and let their friends, family and colleagues share the burden, pressure, happiness, sadness, everything and at the same time share theirs problems and point of view also. Sharing is caring. I personally prefer this method, first of all, it reduce our stress and others; secondly, it wouldn't cause any bad effect like drinking and smoking which is not good for health.

From open blog, to invited blog and to social web application, we only need a place to healthily release our feeling, a personal place to write and talk. Somehow, this is not possible for some people. All their dissatisfaction about company, the management, the colleague which they blogged or wrote is used by so call "friend" to show it to the criticized person, to the management they have complaint. One by one, blog being closed, web application being canceled to make us speechless.

If you ask me what is different between friend and colleague, I will define friend as a person that you can talk, and colleague is a person who work (maybe not) with you. A friend share your problem, a colleague use your problem.

I don't know I will banned or warned or not if some one from my company read my blog. I just hope that these people return a piece of personal virtual space for me to share with my friends and family. I sincerely thank you for not making this an issue.
